Change On the Horizon | January 17, 2025

These are days of transition in our government and in our nation. Change is on the horizon. Kristine and I will be observing the change in Washington, DC up close.

I will sing at the Turning Point USA’s Inaugural-Eve Ball on Sunday night, January 19th, in Washington, DC. Charlie Kirk is the Founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rallying, organizing, and empowering students to advocate for principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government. I have gotten to know Charlie and I am impressed with his love for the nation and found him to be a person of deep faith and commitment to Jesus.

On Monday, Kristine and I will attend the inauguration of President Donald Trump. It will be the second time that we have attended an inauguration. Originally, inaugurations were held on the East side of the Capitol but since the inauguration of Ronald Reagan, the ceremony has been held on the West side of the Capitol supposedly because Reagan wanted to take the oath of office facing the West and towards California. The weather forecast is for a very cold day so we will be bundled up.

The Washington National CathedralOn Tuesday morning, we will attend the National Prayer Service which is held in the Washington National Cathedral at 11:00 am ET. While not open to the public, the service can be seen at this link if watching live – https://www.youtube.com/live/PhHE8fvf92M

In between these activities, I will deliver notes of encouragement to Congressional offices to both the House and Senate offices.

We covet your prayers during these days and ask that you continue to pray for the nation during this strategic period.

God bless you and God bless America.

Steve
